Talk about changing the Subject...are we talking about the MMGWC or a soft porn book/movie?

Flawed data, manipulated by biased pollsters, reported by even more biased (and not very bright) journalists. Huh, I think I'm beginning to see your point . . . .

Ding Ding....Ding....

Sometimes my little one liner zingers have a pretty deep meaning behind them when they are unpacked. (of course other times they are just for entertainment) This is why I so hated at times in these MMGW threads because I have a way of cutting through the smoke screen and showing the Emperor as not just naked, but playing with himself.

See all of the "smart people" in Academia, Government and the Media KNEW who was going to win the 2016 election based on the DATA. The Consensus. Remember the line/lie that 97% of Climate Scientists say MMGW is real? You don't think it's a coincidence that Hilary was given a 97% chance to win "according to the "Data" do you? Physiological studies know how to manipulate people. Say 99% and it's too obvious a scam...but 97% is the focus group tested number to make people "believe".

The scam is to not discuss the underlying (lying) issue, but to make the debate about the consensus, all the smart people know, and why are you a denier when everyone else agrees. You can clearly see it in this thread by the MMGWC. Then you get to easily set up the Good vs Bad paradigm where you are actually a bad person if you don't believe and think what the informed and educated vast majority thinks. It's Phy-ops and Marketing 101 folks...but it ain't Science.

So long as the tacos are warm and the ice cream cold, he's probably happy as a clam in there.

Well, I'm not completely onboard with your analogy, but it is worth considering. As for our more outspoken friends on the pro-CC side of this particular thread debate, I don't think they're trying to be manipulative or aren't well-intended. They believe what they believe, and seem to be well schooled up in the science that supports their views. What I find surprising, and at times troubling, is that they often don't seem schooled up enough in opposing scientific theories, and too often resort to attacking or ignoring contrarian scientists themselves. Either that or presenting doomsday articles that cite a scientific source but are themselves full of journalistic hyperbole and the like. Again, if the science is so overwhelmingly convincing, I fail to understand why the effort to suppress debate.

If the raw data is enough...why fake it and "statistically adjust" it to better fit their desired outcome?

There are also different camps in the MMGWC.
The leadership who gain power, prestige, and money from it's promotion and then the majority, who are good people that simply buy into the lie because they are "the good guys" vs "the bad guys".

I'm telling you, they really do believe that they are the Good Guys wanting to save Mother Gia and the future generations of humanity by driving a Prius. So they get VERY Defensive when you try to tell them that driving a Prius does NOTHING to save the Environment. They have based so much of their self-worth and self-esteem around the issue that they take it VERY personal when someone tells them so much of how they have been living their life is a lie. Everyone wants meaning to their lives, what more meaning can they have then literally "saving the planet" from the evil forces of Big Oil?

Developing electric vehicles is probably a good step in the right direction. Young technologies often don't reach their full potential for a while. So we have to push through the learning curve to tell if reality can match up to expectation.

Initially, wind and solar power were only financially viable with government subsidies. Now, in many places, they are cheaper than building new conventional power plants -- not even considering the environmental benefits of reduced CO2 pollution.

As far as I can tell, burning ethanol doesn't, and never will, made sense.
