I had hoped this mmgw fighting had died a natural death meanwhile here we our local daytime high is once again (and has been for.almost two weeks) well. Below our normal nighttime low . But thats just weather.

I agree, it is bay after bay after bay of beauty, kind of like Fijordland on the sw coast of the south island of NZ. And there is NO ONE there, just beautiful. You go ashore in a secluded bay and walk where very few(if any) people have been.

A new study published in the journal Science links Arctic sea ice loss to cumulative CO2 emissions in the atmosphere through a simple linear relationship (Figure 6). Researchers conducting the study, including NSIDC scientist Julienne Stroeve, examined this linear relationship based on observations from the satellite and pre-satellite era since 1953, and in climate models. The observed relationship is equivalent to a loss of 3 square meters (32 square feet) for every metric ton of CO2 added to the atmosphere, compared the average from all the climate models of 1.75 square meters (19 square feet). This smaller value, or lower sensitivity, from the models is consistent with findings that the models tend to be generally conservative relative to observations in regard to how fast the Arctic has been losing its summer ice cover. The observed rate of ice loss per metric ton of CO2 allows individuals to more easily grasp their contribution to Arctic sea ice loss.

Who is "they"? AGW is part of a long term change in climate which is measured over 30 years.

Alarm is turning to panic as the years roll by and still the world fails to self destruct due to climate change.

And why wouldn't "they" panic when the only two absolute concrete globally measured empirical changes to emerge from billions of dollars in research is that atmospheric CO2 content has increased by 40% and the earth has greened up by 14%? Another fact that isn't mentioned by doomsayers is that primates - of which humans are a member - are predominantly a tropical and sub tropical dwelling species. It's only humans that choose to live in temperate and colder regions; but then of course they need to consume copious amounts of energy in order to keep themselves at tropical and sub tropical temperatures in order to do so. Ironic, isn't it?

I shake my head and wonder why is it that we can't just all get along and enjoy this deliciously balmy interlude (in which civilised human society emerged from the wilderness) within the present ice age?
