North American Circumnavigation

Not saying I am going to do it, the Admiral doesn't like cold weather, but I was wondering about the timing for sailing around North America, starting on the East Coast. Seems like you could spend the winter in the Caribbean and stage from Vancouver in the early summer. From there you would want to be on the north coast of Alaska ready to go into the ice in mid-July. The distance from there to Baffin Island is not huge and you would not want to hesitate for obvious reasons. I assume you could make it to Newfoundland by September(ish)? Would it make more sense to the other way around?

Re: North American Circumnavigation

The other way around you will be going with the wind and current down the west coast from Canada to the PC. It will be a beat from the Canal to the US east coast but from there you will have the Gulf Stream going your way so again more favorable wind and current.
