A non-profit vs ... big oil. Hmmmm. Still supports my point.

If science is a business (it's not but let's play), its product is the best possible knowledge, and you don't stay in business with a shoddy product.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ! ! ! whattapilabaloney !

Science not a business? If so then why did the warmistas go berserk in Australia when Lomburg picked up a $4m grant and they didn't. Right now they are working feverishly to shaft that grant so that it may be bequeathed as it should - to one of the true believers.

Someone who doesn't think the right thoughts can expect to be smashed by the warmistas.

(hey Reefmagnet - Asch in action, right here)

The complaint is that the Aussie government is hiring someone to find results that are favourable to the coal industry, not to do science.

Quote:
Broadly, Lomborg claims that by doing a cost-benefit analysis of various policies to attack global issues, you can work out where you get the most “good” for the money you spend.

“What we are doing is economics, not science,” Lomborg told ABC Radio earlier this week, with no hint of irony.
For the record, I have no problem with cost-benefit analysis. But you need facts to do this.

Well that article's cred flew out the window by the time I hit this pearler:

Quote:
How do you price, for example, the loss of a Pacific island nation and what that would mean for the cultures that have thrived there? What’s the price losing multiple species of flora and fauna or the Great Barrier Reef Jotzo adds:

Climate change is exceptional because it has all of these dimensions that go beyond the practical capability of cost benefit analysis.

Right. NYFD is a business. NASA is a business. NOAA is a business. The Oakland Police Dept is a business. The Marines are a business. Army Corps of Engineers is a business. National Guard... business. USCG... b_s_n_ss. Would you like to buy a vowel?

Got it.

Science isn't a FOR PROFIT business (is that better?) It's a process, a methodology. A means. Would have thought you'd know that, Mr Scientist....

I'm no fan of tarsands. But considering my government has fallen all over themselves to dig up that crap as fast as humanly possible and sell it to you at below world market prices () ... you're welcome.

There you go again relying on that silly map like a drowning man clinging to a liferaft. I'll tell you again - IT'S FAKE. The warmistas predetermine the result they want then fake raw data to a level necessary to give that result.

The world is at the start of a cooling period so get used to it. Sooner or later the warm currents in the North Pacific will reverse and there too will cool dramatically. The simple fact is that over the last few years record cold snaps have hit places all over the world.

Britain suffered record cold in 2010
Last December UK's coldest for 100 years - BBC News

There was record cold all over Europe in 2012-13. It extended all the way to Siberia which your map says is getting hotter.
“Berlin Freezes In 100-Year Winter”…”Record Snow” Blankets Germany, Bitter Cold Grips Europe

There was record snow in Alberta in 2012.
Calgary and southern Alberta left under a white blanket after record snowfall |

If you live in Alberta you should remember the 2013-4 winter which brought record snow to many parts of the province.
http://www.dailyheraldtribune.com/20...aking-snowfall

The almost record cold winter everywhere from Ontario to Nova Scotia and down to the Hudson has been well documented. The 2013-4 winter was almost as cold and much colder than normal. In the Boston area cold weather records were broken in 2015.

Over 100 pages ago I pointed out that the warmistas were cheating on the Siberian weather data. The map above is dated April 14 2015 and says that Siberia is getting warmer. Really? How about we ignore the liars with their fake weather models and actually check out what is happening in Siberia. These people, who are actually there, say it is getting colder with hundred year record snow in March 2015. Oooops !
Spring? What spring? Record snow falls in Siberia and Far East

Don't forget the other end of the earth either. Remember that ship load of warmistas who were frozen in down in Antarctica IN SUMMER?
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/mike-ci...-warming-missi
Those guys who gave rise to post #1 just found a week of warm weather and grabbed it. Good luck to them.

Win?
Who's trying to win anything?
Lake....if you can't understand the differences in business models between the above then how can you be taken seriously when it comes to expressing your MMGW Cultist views?

Come on Amigo...I know you are smarter than that....don't take the easy way out.
