Fair winds to you. Points for the strangest crew recruiting add of the day.

Hello, Poppa. It sounds like a reprise of the Kon Tiki voyage, with a somewhat updated boat! Your advice to visit the website and read the history of the Flying and Floating Neutrinos is most appropriate. Interesting reading and lots of photos.

Best of luck!

I don't know about this voyage, but my wife is Vietnamese and I have done a lot of serious partying with buddhists. Remember that most of the Thais are buddhists too and Bangkok is not known for the goody two shoes who hang there.

Ask a practising (your wife?) Buddhist about the 3RD and 5TH precepts of Buddhism.

My wife is Catholic and I doubt she knows the third and fifth precepts of that either. Many of her inlaws in Saigon are buddhist. Strange as it may seem, there isn't such a clear delineation between the two in Vietnam. My buddy in Bangkok was a doctor in California for twenty years and got tired of it. He now practices for the French version of Doctors Without Borders, married a Thai girl and has a son, converted from Judaism to Buddhism, lives in Bangkok, and is a party animal. It works for him.

It might be more appropriate to put it this way, Tex: He now practices for Médecins Sans Frontières, the humanitarian organization founded by French doctors and journalists in 1971. (Médecins Sans Frontières, of course, means Doctors without Borders in English.)

The US branch of MSF / DWB came into existence in 1990 in New York. Here's a link to their "About" page:
