We are sailing the Texas 200 in a west wight potter 19.

We are two sea scout leaders from Austin Texas.

I am looking for one or two crew to come along.

You can meet the boat in Austin, port Mansfield
or on the road between.

Re: Tx200 June 10 2017

I am fairly open to dates. Totally unschooled, but did a couple cruises for Uncle Sam and never suffered seasickness long enough to require the rail. I am interested in learning sailing but my schooling gets interrupted by the rest of life. I am semi-retired and in reasonable health (knowing what can happen at sea).

Could you fill me in on some more details (including the T-200). Just used The Texas 200 if that is correct then fill me in on what you think I should know in addition. I assume camping will be on the agenda.

Sounds like a good time.

PS currently in Arizona with hopes of putting a 25 McGregor in at Rocky Point.

The date is firm the boat leaves the dock early Monday June 12 we arrive in magnolia beach Saturday June 17 . in between we'll be sailing fast,as fast as a potter will go down wind and broad reaching on flat water. On the Lee of the barrier islands.
Each night camp in a new place. Its wilderness camping.

The captain and first mate are sea scout leaders.

The other boats all kinds of shallow draft craft some of which are home built

It will be a fun adventure. In my boat it shouldn't be arduous.

Looked at what was available on the internet, it does sound fun. Please keep in touch, some family matters to finish before I can commit but I want to.

Re: Tx200 June 10 2017

You mentioned you might take on one or two crew. If you might still take another besides Jim I am interested and will send you a list of my skills. I planned to sail this event with my Cat 250 but it may be more trouble to get her here from Az. I am living in San Ant Ohio right now.

I'd like to add my name to the list for consideration. I'm located in Austin, sail a 30' Albin on Lake Travis, have LOT's of camping experience, references and all that. Will follow up with a PM for contact info.
