Texas to Carribean

Looking for voluntary crew to go from Texas to Bahamas and perhaps beyond.1987 cutter rigged 40 foot well found sailboat. Will be sailing the Caribbean leaving Texas in November. I will be sailing for next 2 years. Looking for crew parts of the trip. Ideal person would have sailing experience and be able to contribute to food ,onshore activity's, visa's and marina cost. Crew should be able to get themselves back to point of origin. Boat has all new chain plates, standing rigging , sails, auto pilot.

Hoping for the end of November right after Thanks giving. I am in Kemah Texas. I have no set plans for Christmas.I have no schedule. Just sailing. Have not given any thought to plans for Christmas yet.I hope to be as far as the DR by then.
I will be doing the Harvest Moon Regatta October 10th though October the 13th for a shake down.

You're leaving at the end of November and plan to be in the Dominican Republic by October 2020?

I think he's saying he will be in DR by Christmas of this year. I don't think he said anything about 2020, but I could be missing something.

I can't go - but I'd love to trade places with anyone who can. Sounds like some good times.

Re: Texas to Carribean

If you're still looking for crew, I'd like to join you for a week or two sometime between January and April. I've spent several weeks in the Florida Keys, Chesapeake Bay, US and British Virgin Islands, on boats from 30' to 50'. Open water diver, easy going, 59 year old male. If you're interested in chatting more please email me at abwhitley@carolina.rr.com to discuss details and exchange numbers. Thanks, Bobby

Re: Texas to Carribean

Like a few folks, not available now, but do meet your criteria - 6K nm offshore, plus a lot of BVI and Key experience, some as skipper, ASA and ICC certs - plus know how to cook and wash up. So please keep us (the community) posted as your year(s) unfold, so we might schedule future meeting up somewhere along your way - once I've collected a bit more vacation and $ (working, ugh - Guess that makes me the poster child for ineffective retirement planning, should have bought bitcoins - LOL).
In the meantime, happy sailing & Cheers.
