Arrow Seeking female 1st mate for cruising Gulf of Mexico & Caribbean

Presently in TX (Clear Lake area), always sailing for a day, weekend, week or more. I do have crew openings from time to time. I would also like to find a “female 1st mate” to join me cruising.

My plans are to cruise the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean and maybe the East US coast. This is NOT a paying job. My 1st mate is a traveling companion not an employee.

I’m a single white professional male 6', 185 lbs.

To cut down on spam, I’m going to cut my email addy. up. Just run it all together (sailwme @ gmail.com) Please write the word “CREW” in for subject so it doesn’t get trashed. tks

I hold a Masters 100 ton, Power and Sail with towing endorsement. I presently do lessons, deliveries and charters and am open for crewing on your boat and/or boat delivery.

I'm curious what, exactly, the position entails and why it must be filled by a female? Are you looking for childbirthing, for example?

Actually, I don't know nuthin' about birthin' no babies, so if that's a requirement then I'm not eligible. So, I'm just asking.

Child birthing and children in general are the furthest thing from my mind. I want a sailing female because I've sailed long trips with both and prefer women as a sailing companion over men. Pretty simple and I think most men would like the same. If anyone want to talk w/ me about this, please reply to my email addy.

So, if I were to pass this information on to my female sailing friends, should I tell them that it is strictly sailing? No romantic and/or sexual expectations? The fact that you included a basic physical description (6', 185lbs) and specified that you are single adds some ambiguity to your post. From the standpoint of a female, ambiguity is a flag to pay close attention...

I am not saying that your intentions are not honorable, simply that they were unclear. I'm sorry if I did it in a way that offended Jimboats. Perhaps he is disappointed that he is not eligible; your sailing grounds are quite appealing!

AGAIN, SAILING COMPANION, I can't make it any simpler than that. If anything happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. And again, you and anyone else wanting to discuss this w/ me should email me.

That is correct. Otherwise it is spam. Soliciting.
However folks, TxSailor has posted this in the correct forum. He has offered a simple position. If anyone is interested and wishes to reply, it is upto that person to make their own choice and contact if they wish. Please don't add noise by posting a whole lot of irrelevant comments.

Matchmaker for cruisers or cruisers for matchmaking?

In terms of numbers (and probability of success) I would think that you would have a better chance asking for a cruiser on a matchmaking site, rather than asking for a match on a cruisers' site.

All right you guys - If you all are going to start using logic and common sense, we'll have to put a stop to this thread.
