Sailing Key West to Havana Feb 2019
Looking for 1 person, preferably female sailor with sailing experience, speaks Spanish and between 40-60 that can help cover food.
Have a Hunter 34 equipped with new sails, AIS, recently rebuilt Yanmar, fully enclosed bimini, wheel pilot, dual Engle refrigerators, Sirius, DirecTV satellite tracking, new EPIRB, 980 watts solar, wind generator, private berthing.
I solo sailed from KW to NC via the Gulf Stream, fought 13 ft breaking waves, several hurricanes, over 20 sails KW to Marquesas, 3 solo sails to KW to Dry Tortugas, over 20 years sailing experience.
I am a professional retired aerospace. Have received from the US Treasury Department OFAC General License for my company to operate in Cuban waters. Am sailing to meet Minister of Tourism and University of Havana Marine Research Center and sail to the location for our operations… this journey is to obtain legal permission from the Cuban government.
Am not sailing for tourism. This is strictly business and involves millions of dollars.
Am planning to sail in February 2019 with departure from Key West.
For compensation can offer food, private berthing and some of “The Loot” from this multimillion dollar deal. Have already received email from Cuba stated, “this will be good for my country.” My work has been widely reported in worldwide media. This journey will entail lots of media… hopefully.
The maximum duration in Cuba will be two weeks. Then sail back to Key West from Havana.
For additional details contact me at aagg123@yahoo.com
Thanks in advance.

If there's not a chorus of applicants it might be because we're all wondering why, with millions of dollars at stake, you need someone to help cover food for two weeks.
Do you have links to the worldwide media reports of your work? An applicant might want to know just what work they're aiding and abetting before they sign up.

Re: Sailing Key West to Havana Feb 2019
I self funded this entire operation. Am meeting with several buyers. I guess a minimum of $10,000 USD of The Loot should suffice for assistance.
I set this deal to solo sail to Cuba. I have never been dependent upon others. Trust me, I can sail this very high tech luxury sailboat to Cuba alone.
My sailboat is set up for solo and has lots of blue water gear for added safety.

Not doubting your abilities, expertise or boat's seaworthiness: just asking about the nature of the business venture. Surely if it's been widely reported in the media it can't be a huge secret? If it is a secret, then asking for help in a public forum may not be the best way to keep it so.
Either way, I wish you all the best with your endeavors. May you positively swim in Loot.

Re: Sailing Key West to Havana Feb 2019
Ben, It's published on my website, Facebook and Twitter. Ever since opening day at the UN Climate Accords in Paris, my work was first published by Daily Mail the FOX NEWS and then world media published.
I have been in contact with governments around the world regarding this history making venture.
Full details are available at my website and the best news story in my opinion is the CNBC story. I worked very hard to strive never to compromise on safety and quality but am pleased my daily room rate offering is being accepted to those who understand the deal and value.
The "cat is out of the bag" and the final peice will be announced because of my actions in Cuba. The US State, US Justice and US Treasury OFAC Department's all are aware of my actions... and I even informed the White House regarding my second Patent Pending OTRV... that is the real deal of a game changer that every mariner should fully support.
So... the URL to access my website... is a click away...

Re: Sailing Key West to Havana Feb 2019
you are only looking at a hundred miles here, less than a days sail, even in a hunter 34. leave in the afternoon, get there the next morning.

Re: Sailing Key West to Havana Feb 2019
Of cautionary issue to crew that may be American citizens, please recognize that they also need to qualify individually for OFAC license to travel to Cuba. I doubt that their "casual" purpose of travel would automatically be covered by your apparent business purposes.
Recommend that "crew" members check with the US Embassy: https://cu.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen...eling-to-cuba/
Travel to Cuba for tourist activities remains prohibited by statute. However, the Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has issued general licenses for 12 categories of travel. Individuals who meet the regulatory conditions of the general license they seek to travel under do not need to apply for an additional license from OFAC to travel to Cuba. The 12 categories of authorized travel to Cuba are: family visits; official business of the U.S. government, foreign governments, and certain intergovernmental organizations; journalistic activity; professional research and professional meetings; educational activities; religious activities; public performances, clinics, workshops, athletic and other competitions, and exhibitions; support for the Cuban people; humanitarian projects; activities of private foundations or research or educational institutes; exportation, importation, or transmission of information or informational materials; and certain authorized export transactions.
And then there is the usual issue of being hired help and all the regulations associated with being employed as crew. Wages, workers compensation insurance, liability coverage, health, safety, repatriation, customs / immigration, etc. By way of reference: https://www.boatinternational.com/ya...ying-crew--599

Re: Sailing Key West to Havana Feb 2019
I would think that if this were a serious multi-million dollar business deal one would be flying instead of taking your "very high tech luxury sailboat" which is an interesting way to describe a Hunter 34. This is a creative way to meet women but wanting someone who can chip in on food kind of bursts the bubble.

Re: Sailing Key West to Havana Feb 2019
I have received many requests from guys who have excellent credentials to safely make this sailing voyage. The mission is to fully employ 18 men and women - who will be well compensated and trained to become a Captains of the Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel vessel.
After my action in Cuba, then the robotic steel fabrication begins. This also begins assembling the triple redundancy systems and training of the crew. What a super location to begin the recruiting.
Your life would be completely changed… now working in Inner Space… the opposite of Outer Space. The world media will know the Cuban answer in February. Will my work be permitted operating in Cuban waters? All the cruise ships who port must have this exact permission. In similar we are like a cruise ship but operating underwater.
The Cuban government is fully aware of my actions and all truths. The exact location to on the exact day the first Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel will cruise into Cuban waters and anchor at the approved location for all of the world to witness.
So no offense to a guy sailing with me… my deal is to bring home the new careers to the readers of Cruisers Forum. The last time I posted was when Jay Rydberg from Fairbanks and his EPIRP went active and so did I. I hope to journey to his final landing and thank the good people of Cuba for the honor of his body, his belongings and his torn vessel.
HAPPY NEW YEAR

I'm interested, if you are? I miss three of your criteria, I'm male and I'm 63, and I don't speak Spanish. if that excuses me from participating, read no further.
Here I'll be brief in case you're slightly interested I've boated/sailed all of my life, water sports & fishing lakes & Puget Sound; US Navy, Tonkin Gulf USS Constellation; sailing on Puget Sound to BC; 27' Ericson on Lake Pend Orielle, ID past 30+ years, single hand on occasion. Currently retired civil engineer; own & operate with my wife Lady Raven Stables in Spokane Washington, looking for some adventure on the open water. I'm healthy and fit. If you read this far and want more info let me know.

By golly, you certainly talk a good line - even if some of the non sequiturs such as "helping with food" don't make much sense. It is not clear to me, however, why you are using the Cruisers Forum to promote your unusual creativity and business proposals. Surely we aren't a very likely target for these ideas. (40-60 year old Spanish speaking woman as crew for 1 day passage? share of the loot?)

Re: Sailing Key West to Havana Feb 2019
OK... so I don't post on CF except to save my neighbor who washed ashore in Cuba.
To you people who think it was totally wrong to request to help pay your way then I was really off my rocker.
To you people who think this is to pick up women go read the world news stories about my work including my US PATENT DESIGN for underwater hotel including my US Treasury Department OFAC General License to operate my underwater hotel in Cuban waters.
To you people who write nasty words and I am willing to wager you have not studied my life long self funded work.
To you people who say the sailing to Cuba is only 90 miles... lots of my friends have all said... be extra safe and find a crew mate who might be able to join you.
To you people who toss your filthy words at me... just remember I am the only person on this Planet who is going to CUBA to help coral reef restoration... and to build an industrial US Patent Pending Ocean Trash Removal Vessel OTRV and power my underwater hotels by plastic trash.
To all you nice people... I hope you will make your journey to the Planet Ocean Underwater Hotels in the near future.
To you nice people who want a better life... send me email at aagg123@yahoo.com
Best wishes
Tony Webb

Re: Sailing Key West to Havana Feb 2019
Tony, I think OFAC and the USCG would both be less than pleased with the status of your boatmate. Since this is a business venture, she "should" be an employee traveling under your aegis and permit. And whenever you say "business" there's that USCG thing about commercial use and licenses, I could see some poor bosum trying to figure out what this was and not happy about it.
But if your boatmate applies for a non-commercial permit...eh, there's a problem since the purpose is commercial and training and all. Oh, and you are looking for a woman specifically, which might be seen as grounds for a sexual discrimination lawsuit from a rejected male potential employee.
Sounds like you really should keep it simple, and just make the daytrip solo until you've got the business issues sorted out. Doesn't sound like that should be a hardship for anyone.
Or, just out and hire someone, and make it all business. Fish or cut bait.

Re: Sailing Key West to Havana Feb 2019
To sail to Cuba you need 3 US permits.
I have the OFAC General License and under my company name.
If you are in Cuba for over 14 days need US Commerce Department document. Don't need cuz less than 14 days.
3. The US Coast Guard permit and listing all crew members. That is it. Well... was filing out the CG3300 yesterday and placed zero for assistance for crew.
Ever person who knows about my meeting with the University of Havana Marine Research Center to bring greatness to the Cuban people is fully known by the Cuban government. It falls directly into the OFAC General License requirements and this thing about business is only a permission to anchor my underwater hotel in Cuba.
I swear... y'all ain't got a clue because you don't want to know the truth but just sling your false words.
