Please be as creative as possible, and witty if you can! Note in advance, I may adopt any creative answers and encompass them into a multiple choice.

1. In a decent breeze, you are going to the foredeck to unhook the genoa sheet from where its stuck on the hatch. You stand in dog poo. What do you do?
..Unhook the Genoa sheet...**** happens!

2. It's your first meal inboard, and on your very first forkful, you see a dog hair. What do you do?
....take it out and say nothing... Make mental note to eat noodles carefully...

3. It's your watch. You decide yo make a cuppa, but as you look in the cabin you see naked bodies sprawled over the main berth. What do you do?
...if they are awake be careful with that hot brew....ask if anyone wants a cup also?..... If asleep probably not disturb them and plan on thermos for next watch.

4. You'll need to cook maybe six times. But one of those meals should be to Come Dine With Me standard. For the standard budget of 100 rupees / Two pounds / three dollars per head (4 people) per meal, what three course extravaganza would you prepare?
Pass... I am the designated dishwasher
5. How much do you love to clean bilges?
Depends on the Smell... But I am always curious as to what has found its way down there?

6. Where would you take the crew on a grand day out in Phuket?
..If first timers.. probably a rental drive around to the less touristy places and some local restaurants

These are just random questions that come into my head, and I'm sure I'll ask more. Being on a boat for three weeks with an anal cow like me can be really wearing, especially when the rubbish bag is nearly full, and nobody else will empty the thing without being asked... So it's worth taking the time to get to know each other.

Which reminds me.

7. Do you speak loud? .... Only in my dreams

I'll send you both friend requests so I can have a good noses at who you are as well.

8. When can you apply for your Indian visa?

Re: Sail with Saucy from India to Thailand

2. which dog?
3. already made before my watch started
4. choice of meat + coconut fry, green papaya/mango salad, roasted pumpkins
5. not much but whats 'like' got to do with it?
6. 2 hr traditional thai massage - more if you can handle it
7. when there is a need
8. Hope you find your perfect crew mate!!

Re: Sail with Saucy from India to Thailand

Sounds like a nice trip we will do some day soon-ish.

Planning a stop in the Andamans? My cousin made an extended layover there. He said it was one of the nicest places they visited.

Sort out Genoa sheet and remind the dog that the poo must not be left the non-skid as it destroys purpose of the non-skid; if it happens again, refer dog to the answer of Q2.

2. It's your first meal inboard, and on your very first forkful, you see a dog hair. What do you do?

Have a word with the cook; you expect the dog to be properly skinned before making the curry.

3. It's your watch. You decide yo make a cuppa, but as you look in the cabin you see naked bodies sprawled over the main berth. What do you do?

Make a cuppa; it's your watch and you are in charge of when / where you want / need a cuppa; off-duty crew can go .... themselves

4. You'll need to cook maybe six times. But one of those meals should be to Come Dine With Me standard. For the standard budget of 100 rupees / Two pounds / three dollars per head (4 people) per meal, what three course extravaganza would you prepare?

Dry dog biscuits with EVOO & Balsamic
Docked Dog Tail Soup
SWL's Pavlova drizzled with a drippy dog salvia
all served with a Hair of the Dog.

5. How much do you love to clean bilges?

Cleanliness is next to Godliness

6. Where would you take the crew on a grand day out in Phuket?

Anywhere where Fosters is served followed with Thai massage with H.E.

These are just random questions that come into my head, and I'm sure I'll ask more. Being on a boat for three weeks with an anal cow like me can be really wearing, especially when the rubbish bag is nearly full, and nobody else will empty the thing without being asked... Which reminds me.

7. Do you speak loud?

Only when you don't understand me or forget that I'm always right

I'll send you both friend requests so I can have a good noses at who you are as well.

8. When can you apply for your Indian visa?
Please have my berth made up before I arrive and remind dog(s) that it is out of bounds for them.

Have you considered asking Robert Redford if he can go? I don't know if he can cook, but he sure seems to be a quiet kind of guy on a boat.

Re: Sail with Saucy from India to Thailand

G'Day SS,

I was sorely tempted to add my half-assed responses to your questions, but indolence and old age talked me out of it. And considering that you are on a short time line with a serious quest, it isn't so nice to but in with our attempts at humour... BUT, your questions were surely provocative!! When you consider your audience, the response was predictable!

Anyhow, Ann and I wish you luck with your crew acquisition and your voyage.

Cheers,

Jim

Re: Sail with Saucy from India to Thailand

Well, the response from the trolls is so far way funnier than from the potential crew. Maybe the questions were too much too soon? I might have to hone it down a bit, maybe... But luckily we're not desperate.

Btw, I simply assuming permission to use any of the responses here when I develop the multiple choice version!
