Novice sailing couple currently in Florida - will travel

My wife and I are relative novices to sailing, having only taken the ASA 101, 103, and 104 courses and spent a week doing a live aboard in the Keys. A little inland lake experience as well.

We are looking to gain experience. We are retired and have no other time commitments or limitations, so we can do anything from short trips to cruising. While we are currently in central Florida, we can certainly travel to anywhere the boat is, how far we would be willing to travel is only limited by balancing the distance of travel against how long we would be on the boat.

We are fit and active, not yet 40. We have been traveling the US for the past 5 months, hiking, camping, and skydiving. We are skydiving instructors, scuba divemasters, pilots, and generally adventure sports folks. We've been married 18 years and are pretty laid back and easy to get along with.

We'd enjoy any opportunities to learn. We can pay our own way.

If you are interested, PM me and we can exchange some more information to see if we could be a fit for what you need.

Welcome aboard GC!

Should be more than a few openings before next month's rally to BVI. Might want to check Salty Dog Rally and see if they have information on boats needing help.

Good Luck!

We are currently in Palm Beach and heading down to BVI and beyond. My wife and I are in our mid 40's and would consider a couple to join us on our 47 Gulfstar.

Re: Novice sailing couple currently in Florida - will travel

Hi,
We are a senior German - Jamaican couple (over 60 but still active), laid back, retired, etc. I've been sailing for many years and am on my third boat,a beneteau 11.5 meters which I bought in France and sailed it to the caribbean and Florida.
We left Ft Lauderdale in January of this year and left the boat in Jamaica while we returned to our home in Barcelona. Now we are back in Jamaica and wish to do a cruise throughout the eastern Caribbean for three months. Gabriela, my partner is new to sailing and so I need additional crew. We would like to leave before the end of November and would be delighted to hear from you to discuss the possibility of your joining us etc.
With best wishes,
Patrick

We have received many offers for wonderful sailing opportunities and at this point we are pretty well booked up for the foreseeable future.

Thank you to everyone for your help!
