Norfolk to Florida Offshore October 2018

Moving my Prout 31 sailing catamaran - need 2 experienced crew. Experienced skipper on one of the safest sailboats made. Not paid. Good company, onboard meals provided. Must be able to pull overnight watches. I've done the northbound trip in the Gulf stream FL to NY.

Re: Norfolk to Florida Offshore October 2018

Hello Captain. I may be able to help if you will provide particulars - I know its a ways out yet. I am an active sailor - 30+ years and live in the Cape Canaveral Area. I have assisted in movement and deliveries offshore between here and NC. Lots of sailing experience including night watches, navigation, sailhanding. I own a Colombia 8.7 and sial it near short and ICW here. I am 61, retired, non-smoker, enjoy a drink now and again, am social and really like nice fresh Mahi! If interested send me a PM and willgo from there.

How much does experience matter? I have no experience sailing but am eager to learn. I have lived on a boat and some of the challenges just never dealt with sails. About how long will the trip take?

Hey, I'm still planning to start out from Norfolk around mid October and would like to have a quick chat if you are still interested. Please also advise right away if you may not make it - I've had crew bag out the day before a trip and it really causes hardship as you can imagine. Call anytime four eight four 888 5779 and thanks again for your interest. Joe Volpe

Going outside either from Norfolk or Morehead City (south of the Atlantic graveyard.) After a week in West Palm Beach I may add a leg across the gulf to Panama City via okeechobee canal or around the bend.

Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately it looks like this trip is off. I'm trying to get this post deleted.
