pirate new here longing for the days of yore in Hyorky

Have experience and will travel.
A true follower of the Way; no preaching but will share knowledge if asked.
Very "Old School". My first job on a boat I re-read Chapman's several times and practiced marlinspike seamanship to make my own splices.
Once held a "Six Pack" license.
Made several deliveries and captained several different Oceanographic Research vessels; 65 foot down to 16 foot skiffs.
Knowledgeable in diesel mechanics and outboard engines.
Previously lived aboard:
1) 37ft Chris Craft Connie Day Cruiser
2) 25ft sloop single handed to Jamaica from Ft Lauderdale.

Several years experience cruising Bahamas and Florida East Coast.
Familiar with the st lucie canal okeechobee waterway shortcut across Florida.

Re: new here longing for the days of yore in Hyorky

I have a 1971 Ericson 39, currently in Hancock Harbor NJ just off Delaware Bay.
I want to sail to Florida first then through the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos to Dominican Republic.
I'm hoping to leave late October or Early November.
The boat is very seaworthy but not fancy.
I sailed her here with a friend from Greenport N.Y.
I'm 52 and easy to get along with.
I'm studying for my OUPV Captain's licence and expect to have passed the test by Sept 7.
I have room for one or two other easy going people who want to share an adventure.
I don't need someone with a lot of experience but a willingness to learn is essential.
Contact me if you're interested.
