Minor in Spanish Language
Masters Degree in Education

Working knowledge of- meaning I had a class or two but it wasn't for degree.

Sailing:
* I've been beating around the Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico for
around 10 years now, sailboats from 25 to 36 feet.
* Circumnavigated Florida via. Canal System and Lake Okeechobee.
* Sarasota to Key West Florida to Dry Tortugas to Cuba to Mexico.
* I did a second of sailing in Bocas Del Torro in Panama, but there is no wind there so it doesn't count!!

Goals/Objective:

Simply put I want more time on Blue Water, on good sized boats. I smoke cigarettes and drink coffee, I don't drink alcohol or take drugs. Currently employed (Commercial Boat Capt.) and I enjoy my work. We are are busy and not busy depending on the time of year. This gives me the availability to do some short time work outside of my current job, not more than a couple of weeks at a time.
I'm willing to volunteer my time on your vessel, as I am working on upgrading my MM Licensing with the USCG. Not interested in taking the role as captain, just mate or help. In return, I expect travel and on-board expenses to be paid for. Meaning if I help you bring a boat from Miami to Maine, I expect to spend nothing other than money spent for my own personal business/entertainment, etc.

read your post with interest.
I have a Freedom 33, down in Guatemala, and am bringing her to N. Fl. late this year. Single handing is an option, so is competent crew.
The trip should go down in early December, and be done with before Christmas, incl as week's reserve time.

I'd like to see if you're available on the 6th of July to help me get my boat from Fort Lauderdale to Ft Meyers through Lake Okeechobee? How much it will cost and your requirements. I have a 55' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge I'm taking from Ft. Lauderdale to New Orleans but I'm concerned about the underwater hazards and just traversing the rivers and lake.

thanks for your reply . I would love to make that trip with you through the Okechobee (did I spell that right?? canal. But there's as thing you need to know bout me first: I am 77 years old. Sailed up and down and sideways in the Caribbean until 2011, when my body started going south.

I still function aok holding a course, eysight good, hearing bad) and I can putter about the cabin, and make a cup of coffee or cook a bunch of noodles, or turn to the chart table and help keeping her off the reef.

But joints ! Mainly knees. Worthless on deck. (equilibrium problem)
I would love to make that trip. For one thing, it would be an ideal way to decide if we're suited to undertake a two, three week trip together!
