Looking to gain Bluewater sailing experience

54 year old male, retired, very easy going, very mechanically inclined can almost fix anything. Fit. Vegetarian but willing to bend for circumstances, Taken ASA sailing courses last year but have been a life long powerboater and have matured to sailing.

Married family man but great partner who respects my need for adventure.
Will pay my own way.
Available.

Re: Looking to gain Bluewater sailing experience

Welcome aboard here! I'd recommend asking around and looking for a few local well-respected delivery skippers and appeal to them to bring you on as crew for deliveries. (You might be surprised they are less interested in experience than in your ability to handle discomfort, your aversion to panic under stress and your teachability.) It can be a great way to learn the basics, to learn about different boats, to learn about yourself at sea, to learn how to solve problems as they come up at any hour of the day, and to learn from a variety of experienced folks. Good luck!

Ahoy,

Would you be available to sail schooner Mazatlan tp Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, first week of January, continue late Jan. PVR to Manzanillo, then Manzanillo to Ixtapa in February and so on towards Panama.

Thanks!
