pirate Looking for sailing opportunities, short & long term.....

Hello All! I am a single female, mid 30s, no children. I just completed ASA 101/103 here in beautiful northern Michigan (USA) on Grand Traverse Bay. I am a US citizen, with a passport valid till 2022. I am avidly looking for more sailing experience/hours, & I love animals & kids (if you happen to have any on board). I am fairly new to sailing, but pretty obsessed with it, & have a strong desire to learn fast. . I enjoy yoga, hiking, biking & kayaking, & Int'l travel. So I lead a pretty meditative life but also seek intense adventure too! I'm available for short term to potential long term voyages..

thank you! ~ Amy

You didn't mention a preferred destination. Moving to a sailing community might give you a chance to get to know some delivery skippers and cruising couples.

I have met many types of folks in the boat world. The real sailor is a lot easier to spot in person.

When I cast off my lines, my crew consists of the people I have let on the boat.

Thank you Eric for the advice. I live on the Great Lakes so there are lots of sailors here. I'm looking for International trips, & am open to any country. Ive always wanted to visit more of South America though

I spent a good bit of time in Brazil. Mostly in Belem, the mouth of the Amazon. Interesting but a good place to avoid dark alleys.

A lot of really short folks.

Never got a good handle on Portuguese.

I have a classic schooner in Palma, Mallorca. Could use some help cruising the Med. To put the cards on the table, I am 74 years old and am not looking for a girlfriend.

Hi Amy,
I am a US citizen with a 42 ft US flagged monohull sloop.
I have sailed Jipcho from New Zealand across to Fiji, Vanuatu, Australia, Seychelles, Madagascar, South Africa, Brazil, and on to the Caribbean, where I am presently tied up at a marina in Rio Dulce, Guatemala.
I am planning to sail from Guatemala to Panama in December, through the canal and across the Pacific to New Zealand in February, 2017.
I have sailed solo and with crew, friends, acquaintances, and people I met for the first time.
Write to me if you want to find out more and ask questions.
Cheers,
David

Re: Looking for sailing opportunities, short & long term.....

ahoy!

You are cordially invited to come sail with me in Puerto Rico.

American Sailing Association instructor on site as well. You could take a class with him and come practice on my 30 ft Allied Seawind Ketch afterwards. We could do a day trip to Icacos, Palomillo or Medio Mundo or do a weekend trip to Culebra or Vieques Island.

Stay safe!
