Looking for a captain to sail from long island to new jersey

I'm the new owner of a 26 foot pearson that is currently in northport long island. I want to bring it to highlands area of new jersey but I dont have the confidence to do it alone. Looking for someone with sailing experience, especially going through the sound into the east river which I hear is not the easiest trek. I'll pay for captain services. It's a 1972 pearson so my budget isn't at the super yacht level so a modest days pay and a nice day cruising is probably the realistic expectation. It would be appreciated and helpful if you can please provide some experience information and maybe a reference or two along with compensation expectations in your response. Thank you.

Re: Looking for a captain to sail from long island to new jersey

This is Aug 25, and late according to your message, is this done or still pending? Sounds like an easy run, but I am completely empathetic to being a new skipper looking for some assistence, as I was myself a few decades ago. I had sailed long Island Sound on my Endeavor 36 then, and enjoyed the harbors such as Northport. Let me know if this is still active, or completed, as I have, all of a sudden an open schedule next week and would get myself to LGA (is it still called that?) and out to Northport. That would be a Deja Vu.
Cheers.
