Isla Mujeres to Rio Dulce
Seeking crew for a passage from Isla Mujeres to Rio Dulce. Depart when crew is aboard. Seaton 48 trawler, well found. Some sailing experience is desired but if you can stand watches and have common sense that would suffice. Offshore from Isla to English Cay, Belize, then inside to Livingston.

Re: Isla Mujeres to Rio Dulce
Not sure you are who I think you are.... but if you are... Didn't you just get to Isla? (whew, even I'm confused by that sentence).
Anyway.. Just thought I would say hi and bump your post. Hope you are still there when I arrive in November.

Yes, been here about 10 days. Will leave when I get crew, but sometimes that takes time.

Re: Isla Mujeres to Rio Dulce
You probably already know this, you can take a bus from the rio to isla and vice versa. It takes just 2 days. The bus goes from Cancun to BZ City to Flores to Fronteras. It would be easy for crew to get back. Get some of those slackers who sit around the bar to go on an adventure.

Re: Isla Mujeres to Rio Dulce
Yes, have made the overland many times, sometime via Flores and sometimes Punta Gorda.
My crew threshold is pretty low, but still just above "slackers sitting around a bar".

Re: Isla Mujeres to Rio Dulce
I will crew for you from Isla to Rio Dulce but not until January. If for some reason you do not leave until then, or if someone else you know needs crew or if anyone reading this will need crew in January, I am willing (+ready and able). I don't want to take that bus trip through Belize again, especially with a bunch of suitcases (stuff for my boat). I would rather sail. So if you are heading to Guatemala in January and have some cargo space (2-3 suitcases), let me know. Thanks

Re: Isla Mujeres to Rio Dulce
I am very interested in joining you. Have 40+ years of sail and power experience and have recently completed coursework for a 100T Masters license. Could use additional sea time to upgrade my tonnage. I am a very experienced navigator, can stand watches, and am an easy guy to have aboard. Lots of experience traveling in Latin America. I am also semi-retired and can be there when needed.
