ing to get Chesapeake experience with In-mast furling

Hello,

I live in Arlington, Virginia, right outside of Washington D.C. and have been looking into buying my own boat the last few years. I am now thinking I will pull the trigger and actually buy a boat in the next few months. I am looking to get some experience with in-mast furling as most of the boats I am seriously considering have that rig, plus I think it is what I would want if I will be sailing single or shorthanded most of the time.

I have a Commercially endorsed Yachtmaster Offshore and an ASA Bareboat Cert, so have sailed a bit, but am a bit rusty at the moment as I've only been on J70s and Flying Scots since I did the Yachtmaster last year.

Unfortunately, I only have a few weeks before I am heading on a trip to Europe but if someone needs weekend or weekday crew and has a vessel with a furling mainsail that I could see in action, I would be must obliged for the opportunity.

Thanks!

We have in mast furling, but we're in south Florida, so that doesn't help.

One piece of advice I can offer is to keep the main halyard tight. If it's loose at all, the main will bind.
