Greenport NY to Luperon Dominican Republic in October.

My friend and I just bought a 39 foot sloop in Greenport N.Y. I'm in my 50s and live in Montreal and my friend is in his 40s and lives in Toronto. The yard is currently getting it ready to sail south. We are both experienced sailors, but an extra hand or 2 would let us make better time to the Dominican Republic. We expect to sail the boat around Greenport the first week of October while we get her outfitted, then head south when we are ready. My friend will be frying home from the Dominican right away, and I will be staying for the winter. I can be reached on email, wes at cse.ca or by phone in Montreal at 514 941 7269.

Are you able to pay for an experienced hand or are you looking for someone looking to gain experience who will go for free?

My friend and I are both experienced sailors. We're fine to cruise down just the two of us. We just thought it would be more relaxing to do the trip with others who can share the helm.

Experience of a lifetime for someone.. The trip through the Bahamas is something people would pay dearly for. After Bahamas (Georgetown really), shes a teeth rattler, but still fun as hell. Although I'm not in a position to go, a little more information may be helpful!

How long do you plan for the entire passage?
