From the BVI to Miami, leaving 1st week July

Looking for one or two volunteer crew.
Going from the BVI to Miami through the Bahamas.
Taking it easy, sailing only in good weather.

The boat is a BALI 4.3 2015, in good condition.
We just finished few months islands hopping from the BVI down to Grenada and back to the BVI.

You cover your flights or other transportation.
You must have a valid USA passport or VISA.

We cover all boat expenses including docking & mooring, fuel, food.
You will help on board according to the skipper instructions.
No drinking or smoking on board.

We prefer the crew to be above 50 but will consider any applicant.

prior experience on a sailboat is preferred but not a must.

Crew must be flexible with the duration of the passage or otherwise leave mid way.

Re: From the BVI to Miami, leaving 1st week July

we just found out that we have trace of sea water in the strbrd transmission oil.
we have to order parts, haul out and fix it.
passage is delayed until repairs are done.
thanks for your interest.
we may renew the search in few weeks.

Sorry to hear about the - I presume it is -SailDrive problem; it's an issue we had periodically with the SD20's in our SF44. We found that it sometimes was temporary, usually caused by wrapping a line around the prop (which seemed to impact the seals). While always servicing them during annual haulouts, we learned to do an in-water fix with repeated (partial) oil changes - pumping out all we could and refilling, then repeating a few times. This wasn't the "approved" fix, but like (not following) the recommendation for changing the oil every 100 (I think) hours, it didn't seem to cause a problem. In > 4000 hours of service - on engines that already had 4000 hours when we bought the boat - the only time major parts needed to be replaced were after damage from an unfortunate encounter with an anchor chain. But....your models and severity of the issue may be different....

Anyhow, when you have a chance / your revised schedule clarified, I'll look forward to a reply to my PM.

Kevin

HUH? Volunteer Crew covers flight down? Only to find you or vessel is not ready, or seaworthy,,or breaks down first day out. Sounds like a job for Gilligan and MaryAnne
