Florida to Long Island or any leg

Non-paid. Departing West Palm Beach area approx April 1, 2017. Arrow is a 31' Prout Quest Sailing Catamaran, Skipper Joe Volpe. My plan is to sail close offshore to Morehead City, NC, then AICW to Norfolk, either Chesapeake or offshore to Cape May, NJ and lastly offshore to Captree inlet on the south shore of L.I. This my 3rd season with this boat and this Prout design has many circumnavigations to her credit with an excellent safety record. I took her from S. Carolina to Florida offshore last year. Seeking offshore experienced accompaniment to share duties and watches. Onboard meals and expenses covered but crew will provide their own transport to and from boat. My practice is to dock every few days, anchor frequently as needed and otherwise make it a short trip overnighting when offshore. Safety and conditions are, of course, priority. Arrow is well equipped with all safety gear, life raft, Delorme explorer. Non smoker, no heavy drinkers please although I do serve cocktails at appropriate times and I'm told I'm a good cook. Please contact me if you'd like to join from any major points along this route.

Re: Florida to Long Island or any leg

Good evening, we are extremely interested and eager with your plan of sailing from Florida up to Long Island. My fiance and I have quit are jobs in Manhattan to travel and are planning on leaving the city the end of March. Jill works as a private concierge and events planner for the 1% and I, Dean, work as a risk control consultant for an international insurance company. Currently do not have sailing experience but are both able bodied individuals with a strong desire to learn and excel. Both have good cooking skills, ability to take and follow directions and strong work ethics. Easily able to get down to Florida and meet and proceed north. Willing to do anything you need to help make sure trip runs smoothly. Thank you very much for your time, Dean and Jill

Dean, thanks for your interest but I think you'll need a lot more miles under your belt before undertaking an offshore trip like this. If I have room on the boat for the inshore segments I will let you know.

Re: Florida to Long Island or any leg

Hi there.

I need to be in NYC by March 15th. Going there by sail would be ideal but I dont suppose that you want to be there that early in the season?

Wishful thinking
Randy.
