I can only speak for myself:

When I advertise, it's mostly for female crew (though not exclusively). I enjoy sailing with both men and women.

1. Most guys I sail with will come back year after year regardless of what is going on in their lives - not so with women. Families, changing relationships, career changes, etc. are more likely to prevent them from joining me than the men I know.

2. Male crew seem to present themselves all the time without having to advertise.

3. I don't expect a romantic or sexual relationship, but am open to it if it feels right. It will never feel right with a guy....

4. I'm a very guy-guy. I'm focused on function when cruising. A female crew is more likely to balance that than a male crew.

5. Women tend to eat less of my provisions.
