competent amateur crew

For help with taking my boat from Rio Dulce, Guatemala to
N. Florida next Nov-Dec.

Sailed this boat for 30 years, 20 of which all over the Caribe. This is
the last trip for me. I am taking her home to sell her and need help
doing so, old age having caught up with me.

I will pay all your travel expenses, and feed you royally on board for
the duration of the trip.

I am looking for a mature guy with heavy experience on small boats on
the open sea.

Response to this ad will bring you details, particulars and photos.

Re: competent amateur crew

Might be interested. I seem to fit the qualifications... mature - age 61. 40 years sailing small boats including 3 year (2004-2007) Atlantic circle on my 32-footer (eastbound single handed).
Fit and healthy. Live south of Tampa on Gulf coast of FL. Usually available.
Let me know...

Hola Franke;

Our names are Mark and Eve and we live in David, Chiriquí, Panama.
We are interested in your ad for a crew from Rio Dulce to N. Florida. We completed a 6 day voyage from Aruba to Bocas Del Toro in Dec-Jan 2015 on a 64ft ketch for ~850 nmiles. I have additional experience racing 30ft Martin J-class boats in the PacificNW for two years, my wife is an experienced cook and novice deck hand but we both know are way around a sailboat. We can also contribute for our travel expenses. If this sound like what you are looking for a crew, please do send trip details, pictures, of you boat type, rigging, navigation, etc. We attached our photo of us at the Bocas Marina, Panama. We have US passports, are fluent in Spanish, no time constraints, perfect health, use not drugs, and very amicable people who love sailing.

Thanks for your consideration,

Marco y Eva Rossmiller

Dave,
hanks for you reply. You certainly sound like a guy I would want on this trip.
I will give you my regular e mail addy here. I have to "disguise"it as little, since the site will otherwise reject it, since I am a newbie.
Trouble is, I much prefer to do all this on regular e mail. Takes too much time for me to learn new tricks here..
So, in case that e mail is rejected, please send me your e mail addy here,
and I will be in touch.
Here's the addy: frankeminelli at gmaildotcom.

Hope that works!
Thanks again, David.

Re: competent crew needed

Hello,
I may be interested in the trip. I have done a good bit of long distance sailing. Most recent was New Zealand to Tahiti last year. Did San Diego to the Marquesas a few years ago. Used to do a lot of long distance racing (Transpac, Manzanillo, Mazatlan, etc.) and skippered some of the deliveries back. I'm working offshore as a navigator on an oil exploration ship and work 4 weeks on/4 weeks off. Send me an email and give me some more information if you're interested. I'm scheduled to be off from November 13 - December 6 if that works for your schedule.

Thanks,
Mark Jones

Re: competent crew needed

Mark,

thanks for your response. I've had some lively interest in this trip, but
you are topping the entire field with your record of trips.

The problem I see is Dec. 6 where you must end your voyage.
What if we are late getting out of the starting gate for some reason,
or if , God forbid, something vital breaks down and forces us into Isla Mujeres or some other port along the way? I think December 15 is the earliest date that we can take with any kind of optimism.
I hope that does not kill it for you. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Frank

Re: competent amateur crew

Hi Mark,Eve,

read your letter with interest. This is definitely a possibility,
although I originally envisioned only one crew. But heck, this way I could afford to play passenger for a change, instead of always being capt. Bligh.
I am taking the boat home to Jacksonville (Green Cove Springs, about 30 miles upriver on the St. Johns.) She is on the hard down in the Rio Dulce t since Dec. last year, but the market down there is dead. But she is ready for a serious sea trial. I am putting together a sales info package on the boat at this time, with lots of pics and other information. Should not take more than a day or two to get it completed. (she is for sale by broker as of this time, down there. When I have that package assembled, I will transmit it to you.

Will you please use me regular e mail addy for further communications?
I am a newbie here on this site, and I am sure you've heard the one about old dogs and new tricks! My addy is frankeminelliatgmaildotcom. Ive disguised it here a bit, since the site does not a newbie allow to post links!! so we fool em a bit!

Hope to hear from you. And re- include your pics, please, can't find them here.

Thanks,

Frank

Re: competent crew needed

Hi Franke,

I'm sure you already have your crew but if not I have done the trip from rio dulce with a stop in isla mujeres and on to New Orleans.

I also have sailor friends in rio dulce that I wouldn't mind seeing again.

Let me know if you do need someone.

Cheers,
Lycia

Hello Lycia,

the crew berth for the trip from Rio Dulce to Fl is still open,
so if you are interested, please give me some particulars on you and your experience and on your expectations.
I will then reciprocate promptly.

Thanks much for your inquiry.
