According to "The Indian Ocean Cruising Guide" ISBN 0 85288 295 5 It is advisable to have an Indian visa before arriving in PB. Some have arrived without it and been allowed to stay for up to a week, most others have been given three days and restricted to PB itself. "Yachts must head for PB on the SE side of South Andaman and not stop elsewhere in the group. The islands were once off limits as there were a number of Soviet military bases here and much sensitive monitoring equipment remains". |
