I did. It says, in part:

Maybe the OP meant to say they anchored there, but that's not the way it reads.

Not argue to point, but one would think seeing all the boats anchored out there that one would anchor there them selves. TAIHTS

Deer Harbor on the West side of Orcas is nice and relaxing though it can get busy on peak weekends. Lots of ups and downs on the bottom contour w/ some mud but good holding, nice small marina services too! I haven't had any problems there but some others didn't put out enough scope, when I hailed my new neighbor to inform him that the rest of us had 200' of scope out, he answered "why?" Nice harbor though...

Hi delmarrey and Speedoo,
Nope - we only dock up at Roche and Friday Harbor and we'll continue docking up there - we really enjoy the 'village' of Friday Harbor and the dock life at Roche - so we really don't want to anchor there. We'd love to find anchorages that are 'away' from the 'major' centers. Thanks and keep those suggestions coming. We leave in 2 1/2 weeks! Cheers

Hey Bill.

My 2 cents worth...Use Google Earth...if it looks like a cool spot to anchor it probably is..Then just check your charts for depth and such...there are just too many for me to post..Just be mindful of wind, tide and swell direction on any given days forecast...Like anywhere one nights perfict anchorage at times is rolly the next...Have fun!

Speedo, they enjoyed Roche on past trips. I do as well. Great place. Now, they're looking for new stuff. Any ideas on your end?
