It's not completely unheard of to head
down during that time of year, and we listen to boats that have done it almost every year on the HF Radio
nets. We left San Diego
on in early August and had a great down wind
sail to Cabo then kept going to Mazatlan. We actually had better sailing on that trip than two other Nov 1st trips...but with weather
...it's always a game
Hurricanes don't sneak up on you and our plan was just to turn around and go back North up Baja
if we saw something that threatened us. We didn't so we just kept on sailing!
A Marina in La Paz
or Mazatlan would be safe places if a hurricane
was to hit. The Boats that were in Marina's in La Paz
did quote will last year when the biggest hurricane
in Baja history
hit La Paz.
