Super Typhoon About to Hit Mindanao

It's a big one!!!! The winds have been clocked at 160 mph. The odd part is this area very seldom gets typhoons and typhoon season is over for this year.

I saw that this evening.

I feel for them.

It makes Sandy look like a kid brother.

Re: Super Typhoon About to Hit Mindanao

It will be the worse Typhoon to hit there since 1970. Weather reports already “Phenomenal” seas near Davao.

This Philippine weather Site is well done as it shows all major tracking agencies. :: Typhoon2000.com® :: The Philippines' First Website on Tropical Cyclones (Since 1997)

We are presently at top end of Luzon, Pagudpud for some easy surfing…. Think we may get more surf later this week than anticipated!
.

My concern is that it may turn around or make a sharp right once in china sea and rake west coast of Luzon

I would be worried as well. Keep an eye on it's potential path, this baby is nothing to hang around for.

Re: Super Typhoon About to Hit Mindanao

We are on a 'safe' mooring in Puerto Galera, PI. Predictions are for it to be only a close pass here. But we're getting ready anyway. The many cruising boats in Palau, where we were until last month, seem to have survived intact. Sparkly sunny WX right now, who would know?
