South West Pacific & SE Asia - When?

I am continuing with my thinking aloud and exploring different options towards buying a yacht and doing some cruising.

Now I am just wondering "what if" I skip my idea of buying a yacht for sailing in the Med and then exporting the yacht to Australia and instead just buying a yacht in Aus and then cruise from there. (note: I am from Aus, but live in Sweden. I hope/want to not work for at least 1 year when I sell up and start to move home)

If I was to buy in Aus then I would love to sail the South West Pacific (Vanuatu, Fiji etc.) plus Malaysia and Thailand.

I guess the SW Pac is best to do out of the Cyclone season (April to Nov???). But what about Malaysia and Thailand? When is it best to be there?

Is this a year long option? Or do I need to go further north for Dec to March?

Malaysia & Thailand can be done at any time of the year as they very rarely experience RTS. Typically the west coast of the peninsula in the NE monsoon and the east coast in the SW monsoon will provide the best sailing and more choice of anchorages.

The west coast does get very busy around Chrismas time. The east coast is usually quieter.

Tropical Revolving Storms mainly form over western parts of the tropical oceans.
