Re: San Juan Islands

I don't. Mostly weekenders and summer vacationers in the SJ's it seems. There are some liveaboards here and there...

Re: San Juan Islands

I think this is the most up to date cruising guide to the San Juans. Great people and very very thorough.

Re: San Juan Islands

Thank you. I'm pretty familiar with the archipelago, having sailed there extensively. The islands will be home-base for several years as my wife and I explore the lower sound, BC and the inland passage. We're seeking a live-aboard community with the same interest. If I don't find a dedicated online group, I'll look into starting one here on CF.

Re: San Juan Islands

Depending on what you want to know there are great resources outside of CruisersForum. Have you checked out ActiveCaptain.com for port information you're looking for?

Re: San Juan Islands

n8kraft, thank you for the Active Captain referral--what an amazing tool. For anyone else interested in the topic of live-aboard community in Pacific NW, I've also found Three Sheets Northwest, which is closest to what I'm looking for, so far. I'm sure to find others.

My goal is, when my wife and I begin our NW live-aboard adventure, we'll have plenty of local connections and resources at hand.
