Requesting Info on Rallies from Australia to South Pacific

I am new to cruising and request information on rallies or cruise in company events for this coming year to New Cal, Vanuatu or Fiji. I sail out of Rosslyn Bay but could be interested in departures anywhere along the Queensland coast.

A lot of boats leave from Bundaberg.

You're from Emerald? A fine boating community that one! I remember a voyage or 2 on Nagoas Ark on Fairburn Dam....

Thanks Mark. For people joining rally do you know of any groups leaving Bundaberg or other ports around May to July sailing across to Vanuatu or other destinations in the region.

The Sail Indonesia rally is the most famous one and I believe it leaves in July from Darwin. I have met cruisers who joined the rally and they advise that it made the customs, immigration and so forth in Indonesia a lot easier.

Indonesia has suffered from confusion lately as local governments try to impose their own rules including boat bonding and other nonsense.

Here is the sail Indo website link.

The Brisbane to Vanuatu Yacht Rally, leaves brisbane around 2nd may 2009, travelling via Huon reef.
There's nearly always an ad for it in the Cruising Helmsman magazine, each month.
We were in Vanuatu towards the end of last year (getting married), & i would reccommend it as an excelleant destination to anyone!,

cheers
Shaun
