We have a
boat currently in Langkawi getting
boat work done.
There is a very large supermarket near Royal Langkawi Yacht Club. There is anchorage available nearby if you can't get into marina. Two other marina's available, but Reebok requires free
water ferry to main island, and then taxi ride into Kuah.
There is a couple, Paul and Sheila, who run a company called Nautical Bits at the RLYC who offer help with
provisioning. For less than the cost of a taxi to main grocery Sheila showed us the best places to buy wine, the best bakeries, the only place that has bacon...and then she took us main grocery to finish up the last bits. She also took us to stores to
purchase dishes, linens etc, as we had just purchased the boat. We would have never found these stores on our own. Let me know if you would like contact information.
Langkawi is easy--everyone speaks
english, it is full of expats, and it is beautiful. The local population is largely muslim, so plan on covering your shoulders.
We will back on Oct 28, if you have time look us up! Arkouda is the first vessel on the right in C
Dock.
