Planning to sail West Mexico

I've decided that it will be the west coast of Mexico for me. I've lived in Manzanillo and that life never leaves your heart.
Question #1 - Should I buy the boat in the USA or in Mexico?
Question #2 - Can you point me to the latest and best directions about Visa's etc.? Is it best to buy in S. Cal and arrive by boat to a port in Mexico?
Question #3 - Anyone know of a nice sailboat for a single fellow? I was going to buy a Tayana or a Wetsail 32 or Allied Mk2 but am now looking around for a Morgan 33 to 41 probably a ketch because of the great liveaboard and singlehandiing. any ideas? I miss Z-Town! thank you all, Ed

1 wherever you find what you need at a decent price.
2 noonsite.com read the mexico section.
3 go start bugging the people on the docks and at the boatyards, there are many boats for sale now.

Re: Planning to sail West Mexico

am in l a cuz de huanacaxtle, nayarit, mexico. there ar eboats for sale here and mazatlan and other locales. some have good paper some do not..be caeful
get visas and all that in ensenada or somewhere the logistics dont suck. even when ye gt the visa in usa you HAVE to pay in mexico. they willnot take money for em in sd as you must check into mexico first. might as well do it all at once. from sd to mexico one needs no zarpe. do bring a fuel receipt anyway.
if you come to mexico by other transportation than private boat--dont need zarpe.
