Angry Peru - Moorings

THE Yacht club Peruano, La Punta-Callao(Lima) Peru has just raised their rates for a mooring to $200.per month or $50 per week, no matter what size a boat you have.

From other prices I've seen elsewhere that doesn't seem so bad. What were they before?

For the last few years I have been paying $69. a month. They based the price on size, we are 40 feet
No one here paid over $150. so this increase was significant.

Re: Peru - Moorings

Hey Captherb,

How are you? My name is David and I am in Lima with my wife and kids right now, and we love to walk docks and dream of our family future on boats. I have been searching for where the boats are, other than fishing boats on the coast of Lima. Can you point me in the right direction? Thankyou very much!!

Re: Peru - Moorings

Hi,
The largest yacht club is in La Punta-Callao
, the yacht Club Peruano, but there is also the Marina Club at Callao, and the new marina at Miraflores.
The problem you will have is the security at all of these marinas is strict, and you will not be allowed to just walk the docks

Re: Peru - Moorings

Well thankyou very much for the info, I did not think about the security but I would guess so. It is getting to be that way in Canada now more and more. I would think it is a good thing!

Nice to walk arounnd the shorline anyways!
