I know. We just came across this one when we were in half moon bay last weekend. A
1976 Dreadnought 32 for 42,500 which is way out of our price range right now.

The AIS system is worth having in conjuction with radar. AIS will only tell you about other ships and boats with AIS running, but will not tell you anything about boats with no AIS, or help inform you about any other objects around you. Radar can also be helpful spoting certain weather conditions.

Question EPIRB?

Did I miss something or is there no mention of carrying an EPIRB?

It can be transmitting while you're in the water trying not to drown while using the waterproof VHF in a seaway!
