Monterey, CA casual beach bars

I'm traveling to Monterey for work for about a week and am having trouble finding any blue collar beach bar handouts in the area online. Any suggestions? Also an option would be a marina bar/restaurant.

Thanks

Monterey isn't very blue collar. Santa Cruz is more what you're looking for.

Yeah Santa Cruz fits your requirement better.

If you like beer you gotta try Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing: Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing - Organic Beer Brewery in Santa Cruz, California

Stu is right...no place left in Monterey for wharf rats. The Whole Enchilada in Moss Landing is the closest unless that too has been spiffed up. I have doubts about Santa Cruz...too hippy dippy. Watsonville would fit the bill except no view of the water.

Duh! I just remembered Sand City. Dig around there, you'll probably find what you want.

There are plenty of blue collar joints in santa cruz. Bradys yacht club, Betty burger, Seabright brewery, salsas taco bar, jj's saloon, 1007 club. No worries mate. (There might be some dirt at the brewery, but there also a good blue collar crowd as well)
Even the crows nest has a blue collar crowd in the afternoon 's.

"CROWN & ANCHOR" It is an amazing English pub just a few blocks off the wharf. They have great food (crazy since it is English afterall). Great selections on tap, and more Gin choices than BevMo. And it is a downstairs pub with an entrance kind of like "Cheers"
