Mexico. Good News...
some cruisers are still here...and a couple went to walmart. she paid at register. at car, she found NO WALLET....... had her life in it--cards,everything.
so they go inside store, ask about it, and find there is a lost stuff log .... written in this log is everything needed to id the owner and inventory including the 200 dollars(was in pesos, about 2000+some) and they were given back wallet, untouched.
now--who is saying isnt safe i n mexico.......if you consider it so unsafe, please remain away. this is a beautiful place with beautiful folks.

Re: mexico. good news...
A similar thing happened to me in San Carlos, Sonora about 15 years ago.
Glad to hear it.

Re: Mexico. Good News...
Nice story and not really untypical for Mexicans. But it is about as convincing a safety statistic as 'I rode down the rode yesterday and didn't get in a headon crash. See how safe it is to drive here'

Re: Mexico. Good News...
I left my shoulder bag in a large shopping center in Wpg. once. I was in a lather when I couldn't find it. Went to lost and found and it was all there, including my bus pass and a small amount of money. This must prove the statistics that Canada is a really safe country...must have crime statistics much the same as Mexico.

Re: Mexico. Good News...
G'Day Zee,
Sounds a lot like many events we heard about or witnessed in Baja in the late 80's. Glad that there are still some "old time" folks left in Mexico.
Cheers,
Jim

Re: Mexico. Good News...
My wife left her wallet on the counter at a store in a border city in Panama. The sales clerk came running out and tracked us down in the crowd.
Proof that Panama is safe for all

I heard that James Cook thinks the Sandwich Islands are dangerous!
