Low Cost Places to Keep Yacht in Soupac SE Asia ?

I have just bought a yacht in Greece and will keep it for fly-in sailing trips.

As I am from Australia and know that I will eventually move back to Melbourne, I have been thinking about how to deal with the boat. This more a case of long what if thinking rather than actual planning.

My first thought obviously was to deal with all the fun of importing the boat and take it to melbourne. Other thoughts have been to continue with fly-in sailing and keeping it in Queensland and I have even thought about leaving in the med as the money saved not importing it would probaby pay for quite a few trips to the med.

Anyway, it has got me wondering if there is any country in the se-Asia or the south pacific where they allow you to keep a foreign registered boat for a long term period (years) without having to officially import it and pay duty/taxes?

I just curious if anyone has ever looked in to this?

Chances are that I will get sick and tired of a long distance relationship and will end up keeping her close to home

marina data

The Marine Guide

here is a link to marina data

a better way to go is to register your boat in malaysia.a friend just registered his boat in langkawi (prev reg in uk).i think its 45 ft,very nice mono.it cost him 1600 rmb for the initial reg and every year after that its 300rmb. the office is at telaga marina.all he basically needed was the de reg paper from uk.
you have the wonderfull andaman islands at your disposal as well !!!!
