leaving boat in Palawan

I am looking for information about possible locations to leave our boat for several months to return home in the S Phillipines or in that area. Any info or experience would be greatly appreciated. looking at next May to October

Abanico Yacht Club in P. Princesa would be my choice. I kept a boat there for several years with no problems

Re: leaving boat in Palawan

thanks for the info. I am curious about a few details. security? flying in and out? safe during typhoon season? any point of contact there? Did you have to sail past Mindinao to get there, which apparently is getting safer? We would be arriving from the east.

Re: leaving boat in Palawan

Security - V.Good. When I was there there may have been a couple of petty pilfering incidents (main suspect a yachtie in at least one of those). I can't imagine that this has changed, but I have't been there for over a year now and John and Cissy who used to run the place were right on top of "boat welfare". Club is now leased and so I don't have a contact, but just turn up and I'm sure you'll be able to sort something out.

Numerous flights (>10) to Manila and Cebu every day

It's on the bottom edge of where the typhoons can go, so a typhoon is possible (probably around December). I can recall a couple in the last 10 years or so - all went North of PP.

Come in by San Bernardino Strait to avoid Mindoro
