Langkawi to Pattaya Sailing Time and Tips

Apologies for the previous inquiry - it turns out that I bought a boat in Langkawi, Malaysia, not the one in Borneo.

I am supposed to take delivery of the boat (Wauquiez Hood 38) at the end of May or early June. I need to get the boat from Langkawi to Pattaya. Any suggestions and recommendations, as well as an assessment of probably duration, would be most welcome. The passage would be done sometime during the monsoon from early June to late July.

Tks much.

Some body will probably accuse me of being rude but hey.
1) Buy a chart
2) Measure the distance on the chart (nautical miles)
3) Divide it by 5 (your estimated speed in Knots)
4) Allow a 50% variation in either direction

If this is something you haven't done before pay for a skipper.

No, I'll just accuse you of being a KIWI. But that's alright!

I think it's the OP who needs the info. Randy's just keepin' it real in the thread.

Mate, I got my boat in Langkawi and brought to Ocean Marina in Pattaya. The distance is 1280 NM. It is South Westerly Monsoon season and you are going through the entire Malacca Strait. Round Singapore...if you are not used to sail around major shipping lanes, you will find it slightly hectic around there...dont be intimidated by the Singaporian Coast guard.
