Hurricane Holes Pacific Costa Rica (Golfo Dulce or Golfo de Nicoya?)

Has anyone cruised Pacific Costa Rica during hurricane season? Which location is safer Golfo Dulce or Nicoya?

Re: Hurricane Holes Pacific Costa Rica (Golfo Dulce or Golfo de Nicoya?)

Sat out a bad one back in the late 80's in Golfo'. Lasted for about 3 days as I recall and met some great folks while there. The seas were still brutal when we left but we were doing a delivery from Panama and had to get moving much to the annoyance of a couple of the crew. Seems they had used their limited spanish to get close to a couple of the native ladies and wanted to stay. But I was on a deadline and trying to make a buck otherwise I would have stayed for another week or two. They bitched all the way to Z-Town. Phil
