Hong Kong to Thailand

After many delays, I am finally making the Hong Kong to Thailand delivery of my 28ft sloop, Eroica.

Delivery skipper and I planning to leave circa Nov. 1 for an appx. 16 day voyage, with a one-day stop over in Nha Trang, Vietnam for refueling, etc.

14.320 MHz at 2400 Zulu and on 7.085 MHz at 0030 Zulu.

I've been trying to tune in these freqs and times and have come up empty handed. I wonder if the 'net has been disbanded?

As far as I know, the SE Asia net still operates on:
14320 HAM at 0000Z / 2400Z ~ Alt Freq 7045 kHz
then again on:
7085 HAM at 0030Z

I think it sed to be called "Rowdy's breakfast club".

I’m not on-air, so cannot confirm directly.
Anyone else ???

Well, do I have a story to tell - but still reducing it in my mind. We ended up sailing straight into Typhoon Kai Tak, battling 30ft waves and up to 70 knot winds for three days (all lee shores, so nothing to do but keep sea room). Under bare pole and trailing a drogue we still did a steady 4 knots across the South China Sea - that in a boat with a hull speed of just over 6 knots. Not really sailing, mind you, but a slightly controlled drift. Finally dismasted off Vietnam by a monster 12m breaking wave that also stove in the port perspex. Laid ahull for two days until sea conditions, repairs allowed us to get into Da Nang.

All I can say is thank God for full keels and ... enough heavy whether sailing for a lifetime, and then some.

It feels good to be alive. Boat unfortunately will probably be sold here in 'Nam.

Will send a more detailed report to forum in a couple of days.

MATE!!!!!! What an ordeal. Glad you are OK, but what a blow to the trip. Scott, I can't even begin to think what you must be feeling right now. Please please take several days rest, even a couple of weeks before making any rash decisions.
