Free anchorages north of San Francisco

Working on a list of free anchorages along the California coastline (click HERE to see it) and was looking for some input on anchorages north of San Francisco. Any help or information is appreciated.

Re: Free anchorages north of San Francisco

'Cruising the NW Coast' by George Benson identifies a bunch of anchorages from California to Washington. He cruised the coast in a modified Coronado 27 mostly sailing during the day and anchoring every night. Many of the anchorages are in bights in the coast sheltered from the prevailing NW summer winds so are not year around anchorages, however. Before I read the book, thought California above Point Conception was an anchorage wasteland.

I never sailed north when I was in SF to be honest, only south, hence the thread. I'm not planning on going that far north any time soon but I figured it'd be a shame to leave out the bit at the top of the map. Hopefully others will get use out of this list. I know it's a questions that come sup often so I thought a 'definitive' list would come in handy for us all.

As for how far north, I'll make a similar list + map for any coast boaters volunteer information for so keep the feedback coming and I'll keep creating the lists. Much thanks!
