Desolation Sound (BC) wifi?

Planning to spend a few months in Desolation Sound, BC this season.

My phone service is up and considering not renewing until I return home since I don't expect to use it for more than texting or email.

Wondering if I can expect to find much wifi these days at marinas or elsewhere in Desolation Sound. Suspect not, but thought I'd ask.

You can find WiFi in the greater Desolation Sound area. Beacon is a pay for service, and here is their service map: Beacon | Marina Locations. In addition, the Marina at Refuge Cove has had WiFi service in the past, also the store near Squirrel Cove, resorts north of Desolation like Dent Lodge, and Blind Channel. And in the Campbell River area there is coverage available. You can also find apps for a smart phone that will locate WiFi service near your location.

Thanks. Figured maybe I would be okay if I could get hooked up every 2-3 weeks, but appears not.

Haven't spent much time looking into it, but the cheapest usb stick/dongle data plan I've found in BC is $10/month for 150mb on Fido.

Make sure that you check the coverage maps if you are going that route. telus has the best coverage, but even then there are big holes.

In BC the further north you venture the fewer tourists and therefore fewer services. That what makes it special. The first few days are tuff, without connections to the great outside world but then it is like giving smoking or coffee up, everything smells ,looks, sounds better, LOL

I do get withdrawal symptoms but then gradualy forget about it after a couple of weeks.
