Darwin - Fuel Availability

Anyone know if it is possible to purchase diesel in Darwin area without going through the lock and into Cullen Marina? Possible to clear out without going into marina?

Really don't want to pay $425 to go through the lock and then pay marina slip when all we want is to buy diesel and clear out of Australia en route to Bali.

Thanks,

Judy

Beneteau 500 is correct, the fuel jetty outside of Cullen Bay is still in operation and the easiest option.

Yeah. We fueled at Cullen Bay 1 month and 4 days ago and its outside the lock. Ring on VHF #12 for a reservation.

If you are clearing out go to the Customs Building and get a fuel duty waiver. It brings the deisel price down from $1.30 to 80 cents. The fuel dock is outside, you can use it anytime, tide permitting. Contact them on the VHF to avoid taking up space for boats entering/leaving the locks.

Fuel cheaper if you have your clearance from customs (available in town).
