The season is starting. Just did a weekend trip to Two Harbors and had a great time. I wish the sun had shown more. The fires were serious but contained before too much of the infrastructure was damaged. The worst was lack of land line, cell phone and power to the out lying areas from Avalon. Strange, but I didn't mind being oout of touch with the world. Rum has that effect.

Has anyone else been out to the Island? Did anyone get caught at Avalon during the fire?

I'll be over next weekend (Memorial Day) to Two Harbors.

Are you saying there is no electricity outside Avalon? That can't be right; I must be reading you wrong.

TH has power. So Cal Edison brought a coule of huge deisle generators to power the village. The land lines were still out as of Sunday and the only cells that would work are Verizon. Things will be better by this weekend. So Cal edison has to replace up to 150 power poles to brnig regulare power and land lines back to TH. At least that is what the bartender said. I trust him, he makes my drinks.
