Bora Bora Charter Help?

I'm looking to charter a Catamaran in Bora Bora around the end of June or Early July '08. I'm looking for a 46' or larger Cat. So Far I have not had much luck finding an available bareboat charter? I have tried the typical large charter companies. Anyone know where I might find a list, specific to Bora Bora, of charter companies with large Cats?
I have done some Internet searching but no solid leads yet.

Other than Bora Bora, are there other cruising grounds in the South Pacific that might have Cats to charter?

Thanks,

Moorings maintains a fleet of catamarans at their Tonga and New Zealand bases.

Bora Bora is certainly beautiful (James Michener called it the most beautiful island in the world), but I think you might find the sailing more interesting in Tonga, or even NZ's Bay of Islands.

Taojones,

Tonga is certianly a very attractive option. I checked the moorings and they don't have a Cat the size we are looking for. We are interested in a 46' or larger Cat.
I did a quick search for "Tonga Bareboat Charters", but nothing obvious so far. I'll keep searching

I did find this list:
Kingdom Come - Tonga Bareboat Charter
But this seems to be all power boats.
King Yacht Charters might have something but its not obvious from their site. I have emailed them.

Thanks,

Try Sunsail in Raiatea. Bora Bora is a short daysail away but we liked Raiatea and Tahaa more than Bora Bora.

Raiatea bareboat yacht charter sailing holidays, French Polynesia - Sunsail

We took a mooring in Raiatea for a few weeks earlier this year to get our windlass fixed and Sunsail seemed to be runing a good opperation. There was another charter company with all yellow sailcovers but I can't remember the name of that one.

Good luck.

I would also say starting in Raiatea is the best bet. It is close enought to the other islands and makes a good starting point. There are couple choices for chartering. You may become bored if you spend all your time in Bora Bora. It is a cool island but it does not have as much exploring potential as Raiatea/Tahaa and Huahine. Bora Bora is a also very impacted by tourism. Worth a look though! If your charter company allows it, I would sneak over to Maupiti. It is about 20-30 miles away from Bora Bora. It has a dangerous pass, but the island is like a miniature Bora-Bora. It is unspoiled and seldom visited by tourists.

Moorings should be in the Vav'au group.
