Bellingham to Neah Bay Trip Plan

Any thoughts on a trip plan from Bellingham to Neah Bay and return? Potential anchorages?

Re: Bellingham to Neah Bay Trip Plan

I have done the trip. It depends on what you want to do. Left at midnight, was at Port Angles area by that evening. Neah bay the next morning. If I were to divide it up into day sailing, perhaps Bellingham to Friday harbor, then out on the sound to Port Angles (or further) with the outgoing tide. Anchor and sleep on incoming tide, and sail like crazy when the tide and wind are good. You can make it to Neah Bay from midway in the strait easy. At every stopping point mentioned, there are anchorages...

Thanks. Hard to know from info I've seen where one can stop. Any other places you would consider? Utah? Another landlocked sailor like me in fort worth.

When you come out of Bellingham detour north a couple of miles on the west side of Lummi Island. Seems like there are always Orcas there this time of year. Port Angeles is a nice little marina. The straits can be kind of sloppy. Itvis a beat heading west.
