I wanted to start this thread, as a sort of continuation on the Australian Customs
thread. Some were potentially put off from coming here to visit because of a few bad apples, and this as a Aussie makes me feel ashamed, as we have such a great place to cruise!
From the above mentioned thread, it seems that many places on the East Coast
where you need to clear Customs
is near, or in a Marina complex. Since we have had many visitors from all over the world whom have already visited our fair land, I thought this this thread would be a good resource for those who want to visit, and will be already informed where to find those special places, and even more important, what places to avoid getting ripped off.
Now I am not too experienced in all places East Coast
of Aus, so I would hope that our local Aussies will pitch
in to help our fellow cruisers enjoy their visit to our land, but just adding a few places that you would recommend.
Come on Aussies, let's show 'em what we've got!
Here are my few suggestions:
The Newport Arms Hotel
- Commonly known as 'The Arms', this place is a legend in the local area.
- Nice little Thai restaruant on top of the Boat Sales office.
The Anchorage Restaurant
- Right next to the Anchorage Marina. Found this place last week. Food
was great, although a bit pricey. Can park the Dink right outside front.
Lets keep this going
