Anchoring in Bolinas Bay?

Has anybody done this? Thinking about going this weekend since the weather and swell forecast is benign. It would be nice to anchor just off the channel to the lagoon. Depth on the chart looks fine (I draw 7'6), but I am wondering if it is rolly, good holding etc and whether it is rocky or kelpy. Just want to do this for a couple hours to surf the break and then carry on to Drakes.

Thanks!

It's doable if the winds are northwesterly and you stay east of the entrance to Bolinas Lagoon. Note that the shallows extend a good 3/4's of a mile easterly from Duxbury Reef. Note too that the seas, even from the northwest curve around Duxbury and can make the anchorage rolly but it is less so to the east, near the east end of Seadrift Lagoon. (If you look at the location on Google Earth, you can see how the swells curve around Duxbury and into the bay.)

FWIW...
